Curtain Types :
Refered to in some texs as two dimentional unframed soft goods, curtains share common parts. There are a number of different curtain types that are commonly used in the theatre. They are listed below with links to short descriptions and information about each.

Curtain Types
Main Curtain or Grand Drape
Main Border or Grand Border
Full stage curtain or Cut-off curtain
Legs and borders
Drop and Cut Drop
Scrim
Cyclorama or Cyc

A curtain's size or dimensions should be marked clearly in large print on the webbing at either one end if a curtain , drape or leg, and in the center if it is a broder, drop or cyc. Soft goods are folded so that the good side is in, webbing and size are out and up in the baskets.

Curtains can be rigged to move, travel or open in a variety of ways. Some of these are listed as well.

Two-way Pull or Travel, One-way Pull or Single Track Travel, Fly, Swag, and Austrian Drape or Water Fall.
