Corner Legs

Return to #Corner Legs
in the outline.

Corner legs are used for legging up lower platforms that are 12 to 18 inch tall. We usually make the corner legs from scrap 1 x 6 stock , cut to length and stapled together with 1 1/4" narrow crown staples.

These legs are then stapled into the corners of platform frames on one side only and then screwed on the other side.

Note: if both sides are stapled the legs will not come off easily when struck. We want the students to be aware of the needs for a successful strike as the scenery is constructed.

A bottom stringer may be added to 18" platforms but not to 12" ones. No additional cross bracing seems to be needed.
