Compression Legs

Return to #Compression Legs
in the outline.

Compression legs are used at San Jose State more often than bolted legs for a number of reasons.

Bolted legs take longer to assemble and damage to frames of stock platforms when used over a period of time.

Compression legs are best assembled with a pneumatic staple gun capable of using 15/8" long, wide crown staples.

Cleats made from 3/4" plywood are stapled to legs cut to length using a five staple pattern. The cleats are then stapled to the platform frame using a four staple pattern. Cross bracing is needed for both bolted and compression legs.
