Sample Final Page


These are projects that i completed in my typography class. The first is set of posters i was asked to design based in information found on the Manhatten School of Music's website. The third image of this section is a poster which was designed to explain the history of a type family. I was assigned the task of researching Johnstan Sans which is most notably recognized as being the type face of the London Underground Subway System. I incorperated the characters looking at them as shapes rather than letters. I have arranged them to resemble a map which pays tribute to the subway system's actual map. I cleverly hid the logo of the London Underground Subway System (the red circle with the blue line through the center).

I was to create a reductive drawing on the bean and then use it in several projects throughout the semester. Most notably is the poster that explains the usage of BioDiesel. The gas pump started out as a photograph which i took into Photoshop, created a live trace and then went in manually to refine the edges, color and overall appearance of the nozzel and handle.

The topic for this classes projects was nutrition. The first image which is on the bottom left is a concept map. We were to choose a word and break it down into its individual components. I chose the root word nutrition. This was to be accomplished all while paying close attention to the aesthetic look of the map. The lower right image is of a poster in which i took a photograph and layed text over the top. This poster's purpose is to describe the health benefits of a food or drink. In this case i chose wine. The final two images comprised the final project of the semester. These were made into a brochure. The top image is the cover and the lower image is the inside.
