San Jose Animal Zoo opened its doors yesterday morning and found quite a surprise. A woven basket was sitting at the door step with a simple note,

"Please find a home for my precious dog, Fluffy. She is gentle with children, but grew too fast and has eaten our cat, Mittens."

Shelter authorities will be doing tests on Fluffy to decide whether she is safe to be adopted by a loving family.

Leonard Thompson, a trainer at the shelter who administers tests for new animals, spent a few hours with Fluffy yesterday.

"Fluffy seems like a fantastic and obedient dog. She seems to enjoy company and would be perfect for children and senior citizens. She does seem to have problems with bald women, but other than that, she may be available for adoption soon."
